Rental period: 01.04.2025 to 31.03.2026
El Monte RV / Mighty RV uses a flex rate system, which dynamically adjusts the nightly rental price of your motorhome. The price per night can vary depending on travel dates, location, and demand. Here is how the system works:
Seasonal Pricing: Prices are higher during peak travel times (such as summer or holidays) and lower in off-season periods.
Demand: If demand is high at your pick-up location, the price may increase. Lower demand may give you a chance at a better rate.
Pick-Up Location: Prices can vary depending on pick-up and drop-off locations. Popular cities or regions often have higher rates than less visited areas.
Flex rates are updated weekly, so you always pay a fair and competitive price. To secure the best rate, it is recommended to book early or choose a location with lower demand.
Please note that flex rates only cover the base daily rental charges. Mileage packages, insurance, and other extras are charged separately.
Preparation Fee – Payable at Pick-Up
A mandatory preparation fee of 195 USD plus local tax per vehicle is charged for every rental. This fee covers thorough cleaning and disinfection of the vehicle, toilet chemicals and toilet paper, filling the fresh water tank, and providing fresh water and wastewater hoses.
The preparation fee also includes a detailed introduction to the use of the vehicle and its equipment, the provision of travel guides and maps, and the exterior cleaning of the vehicle after return.
This fee is automatically added to each booking and is not optional.
Mandatory Fees (not included in the rental price)
In addition to the base rental rate, mandatory fees apply to your motorhome rental depending on rental duration and location. These fees must be paid on-site in USD and are not included in the rental price.
Government Fees
In addition to the rental fee, certain pick-up locations are subject to mandatory state fees that must be paid at vehicle pick-up.
For rentals from our station in New Jersey (NYC), a New Jersey State Rental Security Fee of 5 USD per night (maximum 140 USD) will be charged.
For rentals from our station in Denver (DEN), a Colorado State Rental Tax of 5.23 USD per day (maximum 156.90 USD) applies.
These fees must be paid directly at check-in at the rental station.
Please note that all amounts payable on-site are subject to the applicable local taxes.
Discounts:
Please note that special offers and discounts apply only to the base rental price of the motorhome. They do not apply to additional charges such as insurance, mileage packages, vehicle equipment (e.g. personal kits, camping gear), or other optional extras.
Mileage Options
The base rental rates do not include mileage. Renters must book their mileage packages in advance, as they are not available for purchase on the day of pick-up.
The following mileage packages are available:
- 500-Mile Package: Must be booked in advance.
- Unlimited Mileage: Available for rentals with a minimum duration of 12 nights. For rentals longer than 21 nights, an additional nightly fee may apply.
If the pre-booked miles are exceeded, an extra charge of 0.37 USD per mile will be applied, payable upon return of the vehicle. This charge is subject to applicable local taxes.
There is no refund for unused miles from the pre-booked mileage packages.
Some offers include unlimited mileage. Please refer to your offer for details and specific mileage inclusions.
Optional Add-Ons
The following optional services are not included in the standard rental rates and can be booked as needed:
- Priority AM Departure (PAD):
$295 per rental, allows for priority pick-up in the morning. - Personal Kit:
$59 per person, includes bedding (blankets, pillows, towels) and other personal items. - Kitchen Kit:
$130 per vehicle, includes cooking utensils such as pots, pans, dishes, and cutlery. - Generator Usage:
$3.50 per hour or $10 per night. - GPS Navigation:
$95 per rental.
Other optional extras (available on-site depending on availability):
Toaster: $12 per rental
Coffee Maker: $12 per rental
Folding Chairs: $12 each
Rice Cooker: $20 per rental
Fuel and Propane:
Gasoline and liquid propane (LPG) costs are not included in the rental price. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel and propane level as at pick-up. Otherwise, the difference will be estimated and charged.
These optional services provide additional flexibility and comfort and can be booked either in advance or at the time of pick-up (except the Priority Early Departure - this must be prebooked).
One-way rentals always incur one-way fees. These fees vary depending on the pick-up and drop-off locations involved and typically range from 275 USD to 825 USD. The exact one-way fee applicable to your rental will be specified in your offer. These fees are payable at vehicle pick-up and are subject to applicable local taxes.
Please note that one-way rentals are always on request and depend on vehicle and location availability. Early requests are recommended.
The following changes will result in a recalculation of the rental price based on the current rates and availability at the time of the modification:
- Change of vehicle size
- Change of pick-up location
- Change of pick-up date
- Change of drop-off date
- Change of drop-off location (one-way rentals)
The following changes do not affect the rental rate:
- Change in the number of travelers (as long as no larger vehicle category is required)
- Change of the main renter's name
- Addition of prepaid optional services
Please note that all changes should be made in a timely manner before the vehicle pick-up to avoid availability issues. In cases where a cancellation and new booking are necessary, the cancellation policy will apply.
- Up to 60 calendar days before the rental begins: 150 EUR.
- 59 to 30 calendar days before the rental begins: 20% of the nightly rental cost (minus any discounts), plus any applicable one-way fees.
- 29 to 15 calendar days before the rental begins: 50% of the nightly rental cost (minus any discounts), plus any applicable one-way fees.
- 14 to 5 calendar days before the rental begins: 100% of the nightly rental cost (minus any discounts), plus any applicable one-way fees.
- 4 to 0 calendar days before the rental begins or in case of no-show: 100% of the nightly rental cost plus preparation fees and, if applicable, one-way fees.
Please note that for one-way rentals, the one-way fee stated in your offer is always due in addition to the standard cancellation fees if a cancellation occurs. For round-trip rentals (pick-up and drop-off at the same location), these additional one-way fees do not apply.
If the renter refuses the vehicle on the day of pick-up, this is also considered a same-day cancellation, and no refund will be issued.
Please note that during certain peak seasons, for specific packages, or on holidays, longer minimum rental periods may apply. These will be specified in your offer.
For one-way rentals, a longer minimum rental duration may also apply depending on the route and availability.
Early return of the vehicle does not result in a refund for unused rental days.
It is important that all passenger information is provided accurately and completely in order to avoid any issues at the time of vehicle pick-up.
All motorhomes (except campervans) are equipped with a 110-volt generator, which allows you to operate electrical appliances without relying on external power sources. However, using the generator is not required to operate the vehicle and is offered as an optional add-on.
Renters can choose between two payment options for generator use:
- Per Hour: Generator usage will be charged at 3.50 EUR per hour of operation, payable upon return of the vehicle.
- Unlimited Use Per Night: Alternatively, renters may pre-book unlimited generator use at a flat rate of 10 EUR per night.
Some offers include generator use at no additional cost. Please refer to your offer for details.
Propane
All motorhomes are equipped with a liquid propane (LPG/propane) system, which is used to operate appliances such as the stove, heater, and water heater. The cost of propane is not included in the rental price.
The vehicle will be handed over with a specific propane level, and the renter is responsible for returning it with the same level as at pick-up. If the vehicle is returned with a lower propane level, the difference will be estimated and charged to the renter.
No refund will be given if the vehicle is returned with more propane than it had at pick-up.
Any applicable charges for missing propane are payable at vehicle return and subject to local taxes.
- Personal Kit: Price: 59 EUR per person Includes: Bedding (blanket, pillow, pillowcase), towels, bath towels, and other personal items.
- Kitchen Kit: Price: 130 EUR per vehicle Includes: Cooking utensils (pots, pans, cutlery), dishes, glasses, cups, as well as cleaning supplies such as dish towels.
Additional extras (subject to availability at the location):
Toaster: 12 EUR per rental
Coffee Maker: 12 EUR per rental
Folding Chairs: 12 EUR per chair and rental
Rice Cooker: 20 EUR per rental
Please note that some offers already include certain kits and extras. You can find the details in your specific offer.
All drivers must hold a valid driver’s license. The main renter (credit card holder) as well as all additional drivers must present their driver’s license at the time of vehicle pick-up.
For drivers whose license is not issued in English, an International Driving Permit is also required.
The main renter must additionally present a valid passport and a credit card that is not a debit card (e.g., Visa Debit is not accepted).
All drivers must be at least 21 years of age.
Additional Drivers:
There are no extra charges for additional drivers, as long as they are present at the time of vehicle pick-up and sign the rental agreement.
All additional drivers must also meet the driver’s license requirements listed above.
All drivers, including the main renter, must be present at pick-up and sign the rental agreement in order to be listed as authorized drivers.
A security deposit of 1,500 EUR is required at the time of vehicle pick-up. This serves as a guarantee for any potential damages, late returns, or missing equipment. The deposit will be authorized on the main renter’s credit card but not charged, and it will remain blocked on the card for the entire rental period.
The deposit must be provided using a valid credit card (not a debit card) issued in the name of the main renter.
Cash, traveler’s checks, prepaid cards, or debit cards (e.g., Visa Debit) are not accepted as payment for the deposit.
The deposit will be released after the vehicle is returned and inspected for damage, cleanliness, and compliance with the rental terms, provided no claims are made.
Increased Deposit for Special Events
For rentals during certain special events or holidays—such as the Burning Man Festival—an increased security deposit may be required. This higher deposit is due to the elevated risk associated with vehicle use during such periods.
The increased deposit for special events can be up to 5,000 EUR, depending on the event and the rental conditions.
The exact amount of the increased deposit will be specified in your offer and the rental terms for the event in question, and must also be secured with a valid credit card.
Please note that these increased deposits, like the standard deposit, will be released after the vehicle is returned and inspected, provided no claims are made.
To pick up the vehicle, all renters and drivers must present the following documents:
Valid Driver’s License:
The main renter and all additional drivers must present a valid driver’s license. If the license is not issued in English, an International Driving Permit is also required.
Passport:
The main renter must present a valid passport. This is especially required for international guests residing outside the USA.
Credit Card:
The main renter must present a valid credit card (not a debit card), which will be used for the security deposit. The credit card must be issued in the name of the main renter and have sufficient funds available for the deposit. Cash, traveler’s checks, and debit cards are not accepted.
Booking Confirmation:
A copy of the booking confirmation (e.g., reservation number or voucher), which serves to identify your reservation.
Please note that all additional drivers must also be present at pick-up to sign the rental agreement.
Vehicle Pick-Up Process
The motorhome pick-up process is designed to ensure a smooth and efficient start to your trip. To support this, please follow the steps and requirements below:
Online Check-In:
Renters are required to complete the online check-in at least 14 days before the pick-up date. This helps speed up the process on-site and reduces waiting time. You can complete the check-in using the link provided to you. You will need your booking reference number and personal details.
First Night Stay:
International renters must spend the first night in a hotel before picking up the motorhome. This is for your safety and ensures you are well-rested before beginning your journey.
Confirm Pick-Up Time:
On the day before pick-up, you must call the rental station between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM to schedule your exact pick-up time. This ensures your vehicle is ready when you arrive.
Pick-Up Time and Location:
Pick-up is available after 1:00 PM but no later than one hour before the station closes. We strongly recommend arriving on time to avoid delays.
All rental stations have different closing hours, so please check the opening times of your pick-up location in advance.
Required Documents:
At pick-up, you must present all required documents, including a valid driver’s license, passport (for international guests), and a valid credit card for the deposit.
All additional drivers must also be present to sign the rental agreement.
Vehicle Handover:
You will receive a personal orientation on how to operate the motorhome, including how to use all appliances and follow safety instructions.
A joint inspection of the vehicle will be carried out with a staff member to document the vehicle’s condition and ensure you are familiar with its operation.
Pick-Up Conditions:
If you collect the vehicle after the booked pick-up date, no refund will be issued for lost rental days. Early pick-up is subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
Transfers
El Monte RV and Mighty Campers do not offer airport transfers for vehicle pick-up or return. Transport between the airport and the rental station is the responsibility of the renter.
Here are some options for getting to the rental stations:
Taxi or Uber:
Most rental stations are located near airports and can be easily reached by taxi or ride services such as Uber or Lyft. These provide a convenient and direct way to reach the station from your hotel or the airport.
Public Transportation:
Some stations are also accessible by public transport. It’s a good idea to research your route in advance to find the best option for reaching the location.
Rental Car:
If you are using a rental car to get to the station, please confirm the return conditions in advance, as it is not possible to return rental cars at the motorhome stations.
No Transfers for One-Way Rentals:
For one-way rentals (where the vehicle is returned to a different location), renters must also arrange their own return transport. Taxis, ride services, or public transport are available options.
Please plan your arrival and departure in advance to ensure timely pick-up and return of the vehicle.
Early Departure (Priority AM Departure – PAD)
Renters have the option to book an early departure, allowing you to pick up the motorhome before the regular afternoon pick-up time. This option is called Priority AM Departure (PAD) and allows you to begin your trip earlier in the day.
The PAD option costs 295 EUR per rental.
With PAD, the vehicle can be picked up in the morning on the scheduled pick-up day, depending on availability and vehicle readiness.
To use this option, PAD must be booked in advance. It cannot be added on the day of pick-up.
The exact pick-up time will be coordinated with the rental station one day before pick-up, once the vehicle has been confirmed as ready.
Please note that this option is subject to availability and should be requested early, especially during peak season. Without booking the PAD option, the regular pick-up time is after 1:00 PM.
Vehicle Return
Timely and proper return of the motorhome is an important part of the rental agreement. Key return details include:
Return Time:
The motorhome must be returned to the rental station between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM on the scheduled return day.
If the vehicle is returned after 11:00 AM without prior approval from the rental station, a late fee of 50 EUR per hour will apply.
For unauthorized extensions, a double nightly rate will be charged for each extra rental night.
Vehicle Condition:
The vehicle must be returned clean—both inside and out.
The vehicle will be inspected by a staff member upon return for damage, cleanliness, and any leftover items.
If the vehicle is returned damaged or not clean, additional charges for repair or cleaning will be applied.
Fuel and Propane:
The fuel and propane levels must match those at pick-up. Otherwise, the difference will be estimated and charged.
There is no refund if the vehicle is returned with more fuel or propane than at pick-up.
Early Return:
If the vehicle is returned before the booked return date, no refund will be issued for unused rental days.
One-Way Rentals:
For one-way rentals, the vehicle must be returned to the agreed drop-off station. Returning the vehicle to a different location without prior approval will result in a penalty fee and relocation costs.
Delays and After-Hours Returns:
Returns outside of regular business hours are only allowed with prior approval from the rental station. Additional fees apply if the vehicle is not returned within the agreed time frame.
Flight Booking Recommendations
When planning your return trip, we recommend allowing sufficient time for the vehicle return process.
Since the vehicle will be thoroughly inspected for cleanliness and damage, the return can take some time.
To ensure you reach your flight on time, we recommend booking your flights for the afternoon or evening on the return day. This gives you enough time to return the vehicle properly without being rushed.
Please keep in mind that delays or returns after 11:00 AM may result in additional fees. Plan for buffer time to avoid unexpected delays.
Liability insurance is included in the rental price and protects the renter against third-party claims. This insurance covers personal injury and property damage caused by the renter while operating the rental vehicle.
Liability insurance covers damages up to the legally required minimum coverage in the U.S. state where the incident occurs.
This insurance provides only basic protection and does not cover damage to the rental vehicle itself or the renter's personal belongings.
In addition to the included liability insurance, all packages offered on our website include Supplemental Liability Insurance that increases coverage to up to 10 million EUR. This supplemental insurance is provided by HanseMerkur Reiseversicherung AG and offers significantly higher protection against third-party claims.
For detailed information about the supplemental liablity insurance and its specific terms, please refer to the insurance information sheet.
Collision Damage Insurance (included in rental price)
Collision damage insurance is included in the rental price and protects the renter against damage to the rental vehicle. It reduces the renter’s financial burden in case of damage to the motorhome; however, a deductible still applies.
The deductible is 1,500 EUR per damage claim.
This insurance covers damage to the rental vehicle itself, including accident damage, vandalism, or other unforeseen incidents occurring during the rental period.
Excluded from coverage are damages caused by gross negligence, misuse of the vehicle, or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The included collision insurance provides basic protection but does not reduce the deductible to zero.
Damages Not Covered by Collision Insurance
Certain damages and situations are not covered under the collision damage insurance, meaning the renter bears full legal and financial responsibility in these cases:
- Damage to the vehicle interior and loss or damage to personal belongings.
- Injuries or damage caused by carrying more passengers than available seat belts.
- Intentional or malicious damage and misuse of the vehicle for illegal activities.
- Damage due to neglect, disregard of instructions or laws, or frost damage caused by insufficient winter preparation.
- Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other controlled substances.
- Damage from improper use, such as driving with the awning extended or using an improperly mounted leveling system.
- Damage from driving under low-clearance structures, roads, or entrances lower than the vehicle (e.g., parking garages, drive-thrus, covered entrances).
- Damage due to incorrect operation, such as using the wrong fuel, ignoring maintenance indicators (oil, coolant), incorrect tire pressure, overloading the vehicle, or exceeding the towing capacity (max. 1,500 lbs; enclosed trailers, boats, or vehicles may not be towed).
- Damage resulting from negligence or intentional violation of local laws or safety precautions that leads to damage to the rental vehicle or third-party property.
- Use by unauthorized drivers (those who do not meet age requirements, are not listed in the rental contract, or do not hold a valid original driver's license).
- Damage and loss from off-road use or driving in restricted areas, including following incorrect GPS instructions or entering prohibited zones such as Mexico or downtown areas of New York, Montreal, and Quebec (Canada).
Deductible Reimbursement
All packages include a deductible reimbursement insurance provided by HanseMerkur Reiseversicherung AG, with a maximum coverage amount of 2,500 EUR per rental.
Important Information Regarding Additional Insurance Provided by HanseMerkur Reiseversicherung AG
Please note that the following insurance products are provided by HanseMerkur Reiseversicherung AG – not by the rental company or Flamingo Company Fernreisen GmbH:
- Kfz-Haftpflicht-Versicherung Miet-Camper (Supplemental Liability Insurance) with coverage up to EUR 10 million
- Selbstbeteiligungsausschluss-Versicherung für Mietcamper (Deductible Reimbursement Insurance)
These policies are subject solely to the terms, conditions, and exclusions of HanseMerkur. You can find the complete Versicherungsbedingungen für die Mietfahrzeug-Versicherung (insurance terms and conditions) at the following link.
HMR Versicherungsbedingungen für Mietfahrzeuge (PDF) - Currently only available in German
We strongly recommend that you read these documents carefully. They also contain important information about reporting requirements in the event of a claim.
Please note that all claims are processed directly between you as the insured person and HanseMerkur.
If you have any questions, our service team is happy to assist you.
Other Insurance
The rental company’s insurance does not include travel luggage insurance or personal injury coverage for passengers inside the vehicle. It is therefore recommended to purchase travel accident, travel health, and travel luggage insurance separately.
Attention:
This summary only contains excerpts from the full insurance terms and conditions. For comprehensive information on coverage, exclusions, and other details, please refer to the full insurance documentation. A current version is available upon request from our service center.
If the requested model is not available, an equivalent or better-equipped vehicle will be provided at no additional cost to the renter. If the rental company provides a larger model, there will be no extra charge for the vehicle itself.
However, the rental company does not cover any additional costs that may arise from using a larger vehicle, such as:
Higher fuel consumption
Toll or parking fees based on vehicle size
The rental company notes that a model year guarantee applies in accordance with manufacturer definitions. The model year stated in the offer refers exclusively to the manufacturer’s classification and not to the date of first registration. For example, a 2025 model year vehicle may have entered service as early as 2024.
Please note:
No refunds will be given if an alternative model is provided.
If an upgrade to a higher-value model is necessary, it will be provided at no additional cost.
Roadside Assistance:
Roadside assistance is included in the rental price and is available around the clock. You may use this service for mechanical problems such as engine failure, dead batteries, tire damage, or electrical issues.
It is essential that you contact the rental company immediately for any problem or breakdown before taking any action on your own. The rental company will guide you through the process and, if necessary, arrange roadside assistance for you.
Repairs During the Trip:
For minor repairs up to 100 EUR, you may visit a repair shop on your own, but you must still inform the rental company in advance. Keep all invoices and receipts to present them at vehicle return for reimbursement.
Repairs exceeding 100 EUR require prior approval from the rental company. The rental company will assist in selecting an appropriate workshop and ensure the repair is completed properly.
Unauthorized Repairs:
Repairs over 100 EUR carried out without the rental company’s approval will not be reimbursed. It is therefore crucial to always contact the rental company first in case of any issues.
Renter’s Responsibility:
The renter is liable for any damage caused by improper use or negligence. Roadside assistance does not apply to problems resulting from renter negligence (e.g., running out of fuel or accidents caused by the renter).
Toll Fees:
All toll charges incurred during the rental period are the full responsibility of the renter. In some regions of the USA and Canada, electronic toll systems (e.g., SunPass, E-ZPass) are used and tolls are recorded automatically. It is the renter's responsibility to pay any tolls either through the vehicle's toll device or by using an alternative payment method.
Some rental vehicles are equipped with electronic toll transponders. Please inquire in advance whether your vehicle has such a system and how the charges will be billed.
Ferries:
If your route requires ferry crossings, we strongly recommend booking in advance, especially during high season. Since motorhomes are larger than regular vehicles, it is important to provide the correct vehicle dimensions (length and height) when booking.
Using ferries is generally permitted, but it is the renter’s responsibility to ensure that the selected ferry can accommodate motorhomes and that the vehicle meets the requirements. Please check the conditions and any restrictions in advance, as not all ferries are suitable for larger vehicles.
Recommendation: To avoid issues during boarding, we suggest booking your ferry for a larger vehicle than the one reserved. This ensures that a comparable or larger replacement vehicle can be accommodated if your original model is not available. Any additional ferry costs resulting from a larger replacement vehicle will be at the renter’s expense. Ferry costs are not included in the rental price and must be paid directly to the ferry operator.
Traffic Violations
The renter is responsible for all traffic violations that occur during the rental period in connection with the use of the vehicle. This includes, but is not limited to, speeding tickets, parking violations, illegal parking, and other traffic offenses. All fines and penalties incurred during the rental period are the renter’s responsibility. We strongly recommend that you comply with the traffic laws and speed limits of the states or regions you travel through to avoid additional costs.
If the rental company is notified of a violation or ticket after the vehicle has been returned, the charge will be passed on to the renter. The rental company reserves the right to charge an administrative fee in addition to the fine. The renter will be informed of any post-rental violations and will receive an itemized list of the costs and fees, which may be charged directly or invoiced.
To avoid unnecessary costs, all traffic and parking rules should be observed carefully. This is especially important in high-tourism areas, where enforcement is stricter.
Motorhomes are generally equipped with seat belts; however, not every motorhome model is suitable for the safe installation of child seats or infant carriers. It is the renter’s responsibility to ensure that the rented vehicle offers the necessary anchor points for child seats.
If child seats are needed, it is recommended that you bring your own or rent them in advance from a local provider, as rental stations do not always have child seats available. The rental company does not provide child seats and cannot guarantee that all child seats can be safely installed in the vehicle.
Renters should therefore inform themselves in advance and take the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of any children traveling with them. Compliance with legal regulations is mandatory, as violations may result in fines and pose a risk to the child’s safety.
Winter weather and road conditions such as snow and ice can make driving more difficult. It is the renter’s responsibility to operate the vehicle safely and in accordance with road conditions. Route planning should take potentially hazardous roads into account, and alternative routes should be considered if necessary. Additionally, it is advisable to check local laws regarding snow chains or specific winter tires, as some states or regions require them during the cold season.
The renter is liable for any damage caused by improper use or failure to observe winter conditions. In cases of extreme winter conditions, it is recommended to inform the rental company in advance about your planned travel route and regions, as there may be restrictions on vehicle use in certain areas.
Winter rentals offer a unique experience, but it is important to plan ahead and take appropriate safety measures to ensure a safe and comfortable journey.
- Off-Road: Driving on non-public, unpaved roads or so-called “logging roads” is strictly prohibited at all times.
- Death Valley: Travel to or through Death Valley is not permitted between June 1 and September 30 due to ground temperatures reaching up to 60°C (140°F). Guests may be required to sign a separate acknowledgment of this restriction at vehicle pick-up.
- Mexico: Travel to Mexico is at your own risk and only permitted with the purchase of Mexico Auto Liability Insurance (MALI) from El Monte RV/Mighty RV, available at all southwestern rental locations. No reimbursement will be given for repairs, loss of use, or deductibles related to damages incurred in Mexico.
- New York City/Manhattan: Travel into downtown New York City and Manhattan is not allowed.
- Alaska/Northern Canada: Travel in Alaska and Northern Canada is allowed at your own risk. No reimbursement will be provided for repairs or loss of use in these regions.
- Winter: Winter travel is permitted; however, frost conditions may occur in higher elevations even during spring and fall. It is the renter’s responsibility to take appropriate precautions. The renter is liable for any damage caused by frost. In some regions, the vehicle is winterized, which means the water system is replaced with antifreeze. During this time, water systems such as the toilet and shower must not be used until the vehicle is de-winterized in a frost-free area. Winterization and de-winterization typically cost up to 150 USD and are the renter’s responsibility.
- Summer: Summer travel in extreme heat can place stress on vehicle systems, especially roof and dashboard air conditioning units, generators, and cooling systems. While the motorhome fleet is maintained for a variety of weather conditions, system performance under extreme temperatures cannot be guaranteed. Roof A/C units can only lower the interior temperature by up to 20 degrees below the outside temperature.
- Ontario/Quebec: Due to frequent theft, motorhomes must not be left unattended in Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec City. It is recommended to park the vehicle at a campground and use a taxi or public transportation for city visits. Guests planning to travel to these cities should inform the rental station in advance.
