The Preparation Fee at Road Bear RV covers the cost of preparing the vehicle for rental, including cleaning and maintenance.
This fee varies depending on the day of pick-up:
Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday: 239 USD
Friday, Saturday, or Monday: 309 USD
In the "ALL IN" rate, the preparation fee is already included, so no additional costs apply.
Mandatory Additional Charges (not included in the rental price)
In addition to the rental fee, certain U.S. states require mandatory surcharges that vary depending on the pick-up or drop-off location. These cover state fees or security contributions.
For example, in Colorado, a “Colorado Road Safety Fee” is charged. For rentals in Denver, this amounts to 5.23 USD per night, up to a maximum of 156.90 USD per booking.
In New Jersey, for rentals through the New York (South Amboy, NJ) location, the “New Jersey Domestic Security Fee” applies, which is 5.00 USD per night and can total up to 140.00 USD per booking.
These fees are due at the time of vehicle pick-up and must be paid at the rental location. They are in addition to the rental price and local taxes. These charges help support safety and road infrastructure programs in the respective states.
Mileage Options
The base rate from Road Bear RV does not include mileage, so customers must book additional mileage options based on their travel needs. There are two main ways to manage mileage:
Mileage Packages:
Customers can pre-purchase mileage packages (500 miles per package), which cover a specific number of miles. These are ideal for travelers with a rough idea of their planned driving distance.
Unlimited Miles:
For travelers planning longer routes without mileage limits, an "Unlimited Miles" option is available. This option is included in certain special offers. For offers with unlimited miles, a minimum rental period of 12 days applies.
Any mileage used beyond the pre-booked amount will be charged at 0.47 USD per mile, plus local sales tax.
There is no refund for unused miles from pre-booked mileage packages.
Some offers include unlimited mileage. Please refer to your specific offer for details and included mileage options.
Discounts:
Please note that special offers and discounts apply only to the base rental price of the motorhome. They do not apply to additional costs such as insurance, mileage packages, vehicle equipment (e.g., personal kits, camping gear), or other optional extras.
- Convenience Kits: Packages with basic household items such as bedding, towels, cookware, and cutlery. Cost: 82 USD per person (often available at half price with early booking).
- Wi-Fi Hotspot: Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot for on-the-go internet access, connecting up to five devices. Cost: 12.50 USD per night, up to a maximum of 225 USD per booking (speed may be reduced after 20 GB of data usage).
- GPS Navigation: GPS device to assist with route planning. Cost: 50 USD (already included in the “ALL IN” rate).
- Camping Chairs and Table: Camping chairs available for 12 USD per chair; camping table is available free of charge.
- Bike Rack: Holds up to four bikes, available only in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Cost: 50 USD.
- Generator Usage: Generator use is charged at 3.50 USD per hour of operation.
These extras allow you to enhance comfort and convenience during your trip and can be added based on your personal needs.
At Road Bear RV, one-way rentals are available upon request between various locations in the USA but must be approved prior to the start of the rental. One-way fees vary depending on the pick-up and drop-off locations (typically between 275 USD and 725 USD) and are payable on-site at vehicle pick-up. These fees are subject to local sales tax.
This option provides a convenient solution for custom travel itineraries across the United States.
Minor Changes:
Changes made up to 61 days before the pick-up date are free of charge. These include adjustments such as adding mileage packages or extra equipment, changing the number of travelers, or making slight modifications to the rental duration.
Changes Within 61 Days of Pick-Up:
For changes requested within 61 days before the scheduled pick-up, a processing fee of 100 EUR will apply.
Major Changes:
If significant modifications are requested—such as changing the rental location, vehicle model, travel dates, or the renter's name—this is treated as a new booking. In such cases, the original reservation will be canceled, and a new reservation will be created based on the then-current rates and terms. Cancellation fees may apply to the original reservation.
These policies ensure smooth trip planning and fair conditions for all customers, while still allowing a degree of flexibility for adjustments.
- Up to 60 days before the pick-up date: 150 EUR (minimum fee).
- 59 to 30 days before the pick-up date: 20% of the rental price plus any applicable one-way fees.
- 29 to 15 days before the pick-up date: 50% of the rental price plus any applicable one-way fees.
- 14 to 5 days before the pick-up date: 100% of the rental price plus any applicable one-way fees.
- 4 to 0 days before pick-up or in case of “No Show” (no cancellation notice): 100% of the rental price plus the preparation fee and any applicable one-way fees.
There is no refund for unused rental days or for returning the vehicle earlier than scheduled.
Standard Minimum Rental: The regular minimum rental period is 7 nights.
ALL IN Rate: For the “ALL IN” rate, which includes additional services such as unlimited mileage, the minimum rental period is 14 nights.
August Peak Season: During the high season in August, especially at busy locations such as Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, the minimum rental period is 12 nights.
These minimum durations ensure efficient use of the fleet and give customers the opportunity to enjoy longer, more relaxed trips.
These details are necessary to ensure smooth processing and accurate trip planning, as well as to properly register all passengers for insurance purposes, if applicable. Delays or additional administrative steps may occur if information is missing or submitted later, so all passenger information should be complete and accurate from the start.
Generator use with Road Bear RV is not included in the base rate and is billed based on actual usage. The generator is especially useful in remote areas where no external power source is available, and electricity is needed for the air conditioner, microwave, or other appliances.
The fee for generator usage is 3.50 USD per hour and is subject to local sales tax. These charges are calculated at the end of the rental period based on the actual hours used and are invoiced accordingly.
This flexible billing method ensures that customers only pay for the hours the generator was actually in use.
Propane
All motorhomes are equipped with a liquid propane (LPG/propane) system, which powers appliances such as the stove, heater, and water heater. Propane costs are not included in the rental price.
The vehicle is handed over with a specific propane level, and the renter is responsible for returning the vehicle with the same level of propane as at pick-up. If the vehicle is returned with less propane, the difference will be estimated and charged to the renter.
There is no refund if the vehicle is returned with more propane than it had at the start of the rental.
Any charges for missing propane must be paid at the time of vehicle return and are subject to local sales tax.
The camping kit at Road Bear RV costs 82 USD per person and includes a complete set of basic items for a convenient and comfortable trip. The kit contains:
Bedding: Comforter with cover, bed sheet, pillow with cover and pillow protector
Towels and bathroom items: Bath towel, hand towel, and washcloth
Kitchenware: Plates, glasses, cups, cutlery (knives, forks, spoons), cookware (pots and pans), cutting board, and utensils such as can opener, soup ladle, spatula, and scissors
Other accessories: Dish towel, dish soap, sponge, paper towels, clothes hangers, and flashlight
The kit ensures that all basic needs are covered so travelers can start their journey without bringing their own supplies.
For children up to 6 years of age, the camping kit is free of charge. All other travelers require their own kit.
Please note that some rental packages already include certain kits and extras. You can find the specific inclusions in your offer.
In addition to the camping kit, Road Bear RV offers other optional extras to enhance comfort and flexibility during your journey:
- Wi-Fi Hotspot: A mobile WiFi hotspot is available for 12.50 USD per night, up to a maximum of 225 USD per booking. It connects up to five devices and offers high-speed data up to 20 GB, after which speeds may be reduced. This is ideal for travelers needing internet access on the road.
- Camping Chairs: Available for 12 USD per chair. A camping table is provided free of charge, offering a practical solution for creating a comfortable outdoor seating area.
- GPS Navigation Device: A GPS unit can be added for 50 USD per rental. This is especially helpful for navigating the best routes and ensuring a safe and stress-free driving experience in the U.S. The GPS is already included in the “ALL IN” rate and when the camping kit is booked.
These extras are designed to increase travel comfort and allow for a customized travel experience based on your individual needs.
Main Renter:
The main renter must present a valid, original national driver’s license at the time of vehicle pick-up. The license must be issued in Latin script (e.g., English, German). International renters whose licenses are not in Latin script must also provide either an International Driving Permit or a certified English translation.
Additional Drivers:
Each additional driver must also be physically present at pick-up and present a valid original driver’s license. If the license is not in Latin script, an English translation or International Driving Permit is required.
Minimum Age:
All drivers must be at least 21 years old.
Digital driver’s licenses are not accepted. All drivers must bring a physical, original license. In addition, all drivers must be registered prior to departure, as only listed drivers are covered under the rental insurance policy.
Only Visa, MasterCard, or American Express are accepted; debit or prepaid cards, cash, or traveler’s checks are not accepted.
Special Notes Regarding the Security Deposit:
Event-Based Reservations: For special events such as the Burning Man Festival or the “Race Across America” (RAAM), a higher deposit of up to 2,000 USD may be required due to the increased risk and specific conditions. This amount is charged directly to the credit card, not just pre-authorized.
Additional Deposit in Case of an Accident: If an accident occurs during the rental and a replacement vehicle is issued, an additional deposit of 2,000 USD will be secured on the main renter’s credit card. This will be released after the return and inspection of the vehicle, minus any applicable damage or penalty fees.
Refund of the Security Deposit:
The deposit will be fully released after the vehicle is returned clean, undamaged, and on time, and all rental terms have been met. Violations such as smoking in the vehicle or bringing pets may result in deductions from the deposit.
These deposit conditions are in place to protect both the renter and the rental company and ensure fair handling of the vehicle’s condition during the rental period.
When collecting your Road Bear RV, the following documents must be presented:
- Driver’s License: The main renter and all additional drivers must present a valid, original national driver’s license. If the license is not issued in Latin script, an International Driving Permit or certified English translation is required. Digital licenses are not accepted.
- Credit Card: A credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express) in the main renter’s name is required to secure the 1,500 USD security deposit. Debit or EC cards are not accepted, and the credit card must have sufficient limit available.
- Identification Document: If the main renter is not listed as a driver, an official ID (e.g., passport or national ID card) must be provided.
- Online Check-In Confirmation: Road Bear RV requires all customers to complete the online check-in at least 14 days prior to pick-up to streamline the process and reduce waiting times.
These documents are necessary to ensure smooth processing at pick-up and compliance with all insurance and rental requirements.
Pick-Up Process
Road Bear RV has designed the pick-up process to be efficient and customer-friendly. Key steps include:
Online Check-In: All renters must complete online check-in at least 14 days before the rental start date using their booking number and main renter's name.
Arrival at Rental Location: Arrive at the agreed time and confirm your pick-up with the station in advance.
Documents and Deposit: Present all required documents, including licenses for all drivers and a credit card in the main renter’s name for the 1,500 USD security deposit. All drivers must be present.
Orientation and Vehicle Inspection: A Road Bear RV staff member will provide a personal orientation, explaining the vehicle’s features and safety procedures. A joint inspection is carried out to record any existing damages.
Final Paperwork: After orientation and inspection, both parties sign the rental agreement. You’ll also receive a manual and emergency contact information.
First Overnight Stay: International renters must spend the first night in a hotel before collecting the vehicle to ensure they are rested before driving.
Departure: Once all formalities are complete and the deposit secured, the vehicle will be ready for departure with a full tank.
This process ensures that customers are well-informed and prepared for their journey.
Transfers
Road Bear RV offers shuttle transfers for travelers needing transportation from select airports or hotels to the rental station. Transfers must be reserved in advance during the online check-in process at least 14 days before pick-up.
Important Transfer Details:
- Reservation: Must be completed as part of online check-in at least 14 days before the pick-up date. No transfer is provided without timely booking.
- Pick-Up Confirmation: Guests must confirm their transfer time with the rental station by phone 4 days prior to the rental start date.
- Availability: Transfers are available only from select airport hotels and transit points. Some locations offer return transfers only.
- Self-Arranged Transfer: If no transfer is booked, customers are responsible for arranging their own transportation to the station.
This service is especially helpful for international travelers with limited access to local transport.
Early Pick-Up and Arrival
Yes, Road Bear RV offers limited early pick-up upon request. Customers must contact the rental location 2–3 business days prior to their scheduled date to check availability.
Regular Pick-Up Times:
Monday to Friday: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Saturday: By appointment only (limited hours)
Early pick-up is not guaranteed and depends on availability. To guarantee early collection, customers may book an extra rental night for the day before their scheduled pick-up.
This service offers added flexibility and helps minimize wait times.
Vehicle Return
Returning your Road Bear RV involves several key steps to ensure a smooth process:
Return Times:
Vehicles must be returned between 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM (from October 1 to March 31: from 9:00 AM). Late returns may incur additional charges.
Vehicle Preparation:
The vehicle must be returned clean inside, with all waste tanks emptied and both fuel and propane tanks full. Non-compliance may result in cleaning or refueling charges.
Late Returns:
Returns after 11:00 AM without prior approval incur a 50 EUR per hour late fee. Unapproved rental extensions are billed at double the nightly rate.
Final Inspection:
A staff member will inspect the vehicle for cleanliness, damage, and missing equipment. Any issues may result in deductions from the security deposit.
Return Transfers (if booked):
Customers who booked a return transfer should allow sufficient time for vehicle return and shuttle scheduling.
A timely and well-prepared return helps avoid delays and extra charges.
Flight Booking Recommendations
We recommend allowing ample time for the return process, which includes a thorough vehicle inspection.
To avoid stress and potential delays, we advise booking your return flight for the afternoon or evening of your vehicle return day. This ensures you have enough time to complete all required steps without being rushed.
Liability insurance is included in the rental price and protects the renter against third-party claims. This insurance covers personal injury and property damage caused by the renter while operating the rental vehicle.
Liability insurance covers damages up to the legally required minimum coverage in the U.S. state where the incident occurs.
This insurance provides only basic protection and does not cover damage to the rental vehicle itself or the renter's personal belongings.
In addition to the included liability insurance, all packages offered on our website include Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) that increases coverage to up to 2 million EUR. This supplemental insurance is provided by Allianz Travel Insurance AG and offers significantly higher protection against third-party claims.
For detailed information about the SLI and its specific terms, please refer to the insurance information sheet.
Collision Damage Insurance (included in rental price)
Collision damage insurance is included in the rental price and protects the renter against damage to the rental vehicle. It reduces the renter’s financial burden in case of damage to the motorhome; however, a deductible still applies.
The deductible is 1,500 EUR per damage claim.
This insurance covers damage to the rental vehicle itself, including accident damage, vandalism, or other unforeseen incidents occurring during the rental period.
Excluded from coverage are damages caused by gross negligence, misuse of the vehicle, or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The included collision insurance provides basic protection but does not reduce the deductible to zero.
Damages Not Covered by Collision Insurance
Certain damages and situations are not covered under the collision damage insurance, meaning the renter bears full legal and financial responsibility in these cases:
- Damage to the vehicle interior and loss or damage to personal belongings.
- Injuries or damage caused by carrying more passengers than available seat belts.
- Intentional or malicious damage and misuse of the vehicle for illegal activities.
- Damage due to neglect, disregard of instructions or laws, or frost damage caused by insufficient winter preparation.
- Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other controlled substances.
- Damage from improper use, such as driving with the awning extended or using an improperly mounted leveling system.
- Damage from driving under low-clearance structures, roads, or entrances lower than the vehicle (e.g., parking garages, drive-thrus, covered entrances).
- Damage due to incorrect operation, such as using the wrong fuel, ignoring maintenance indicators (oil, coolant), incorrect tire pressure, overloading the vehicle, or exceeding the towing capacity (max. 1,500 lbs; enclosed trailers, boats, or vehicles may not be towed).
- Damage resulting from negligence or intentional violation of local laws or safety precautions that leads to damage to the rental vehicle or third-party property.
- Use by unauthorized drivers (those who do not meet age requirements, are not listed in the rental contract, or do not hold a valid original driver's license).
- Damage and loss from off-road use or driving in restricted areas, including following incorrect GPS instructions or entering prohibited zones such as Mexico or downtown areas of New York, Montreal, and Quebec (Canada).
Deductible Reimbursement
All packages include a deductible reimbursement insurance (CDW) provided by Allianz Travel Insurance AG, with a maximum coverage amount of 5,500 EUR per rental.
What to do at pick-up and in the event of a claim:
Inspect the vehicle for pre-existing damage at pick-up and ensure all damage is properly documented.
In case of theft, crime, or traffic accidents, you must immediately notify the rental company and the nearest police station. Obtain a police report or confirmation that a report was filed.
To submit a claim, the following documents are required:
- The full vehicle rental contract and booking confirmation.
- For CDW deductible reimbursement: the rental company’s invoice for the deductible, including proof of damage cost (estimate or repair bill).
- Your own written account of the incident and a copy of the police report, if available.
- Vehicle pick-up and return inspection reports.
This coverage only applies to damages that are covered by the rental company’s included insurance. If a damage is excluded by the rental company's insurance, no reimbursement will be made.
Furthermore, this insurance does not provide coverage in the following cases, whether the loss is a direct or indirect result of these circumstances, and regardless of whether it affects you or any person traveling with you during the rental period:
Any damage, situation, or event known at the time of insurance purchase, or that was foreseeable, intended, or expected.
Intentional self-harm, suicide attempts, or suicide.
Use or abuse of alcohol or drugs, or physical symptoms resulting from such use (excluding prescribed medications taken as directed by a doctor).
Damages caused intentionally.
Criminal acts committed by you or your travel companions while in possession of the rental vehicle.
Epidemics or pandemics.
Pollution (air, water, other), including thermal, biological, and chemical contamination, or the threat of contamination.
Nuclear reactions, radiation, or radioactive contamination.
War, civil war, or war-like events.
Military service.
Political risks.
Cyber risks.
Civil unrest or uprising.
Acts of terrorism.
Government measures, including travel warnings or bans issued by government authorities.
Wear and tear, defective materials, or poor workmanship.
Any contractual obligation except for the deductible for damage to the rental vehicle.
Improper use of the rental vehicle.
Leases.
Rental periods exceeding 90 consecutive days.
Depreciation of the rental vehicle.
Mechanical breakdown, unless specifically covered under a breakdown or CDW supplement.
Activities violating applicable laws or regulations, including economic or trade sanctions and embargoes.
IMPORTANT: Insurance coverage is only valid if the start and end dates on your insurance certificate exactly match the actual rental period in your vehicle rental agreement.
Important Note:
In the event of a claim, the rental company does not provide support for claims made through third-party insurers not arranged directly through the rental company.
Other Insurance
The rental company’s insurance does not include travel luggage insurance or personal injury coverage for passengers inside the vehicle. It is therefore recommended to purchase travel accident, travel health, and travel luggage insurance separately.
Attention:
This summary only contains excerpts from the full insurance terms and conditions. For comprehensive information on coverage, exclusions, and other details, please refer to the full insurance documentation. A current version is available upon request from our service center.
If the requested model is not available, an equivalent or better-equipped vehicle will be provided at no additional cost to the renter. If the rental company provides a larger model, there will be no extra charge for the vehicle itself.
However, the rental company does not cover any additional costs that may arise from using a larger vehicle, such as:
Higher fuel consumption
Toll or parking fees based on vehicle size
The rental company notes that a model year guarantee applies in accordance with manufacturer definitions. The model year stated in the offer refers exclusively to the manufacturer’s classification and not to the date of first registration. For example, a 2025 model year vehicle may have entered service as early as 2024.
Please note:
No refunds will be given if an alternative model is provided.
If an upgrade to a higher-value model is necessary, it will be provided at no additional cost.
24/7 Hotline: Customers can call the free roadside assistance hotline at any time. The phone number is provided in the rental agreement. This hotline offers support for issues such as engine trouble, battery problems, or other technical malfunctions that may prevent safe continuation of the trip.
Distinction Between Inconveniences and Emergencies:
- Inconveniences: Minor issues such as a malfunctioning refrigerator or broken entertainment devices (e.g., radio or TV) are considered inconveniences. Support may still be provided if needed, but no compensation is granted for these problems.
- Emergencies: An emergency is when the vehicle is no longer safely operable, such as with an engine failure. In such cases, the Vacation Interruption Protection (VIP) applies, which may offer compensation under certain conditions.
Repairs While Traveling:
If repairs over 100 USD are needed, customers must contact the hotline for authorization. Approved repair costs will be reimbursed upon submission of receipts, provided the damage was not caused by misuse or negligence.
Vacation Interruption Protection (VIP):
If a mechanical issue makes the vehicle inoperable for more than 12 hours and the renter is not at fault, compensation may include:
- Up to 25 USD per person for overnight accommodation
- Up to 50 USD per day for a rental car
- Maximum total reimbursement of 1,500 USD per rental agreement
This coverage excludes malfunctions of convenience features such as the radio, air conditioning, or refrigerator, as these are classified as inconveniences.
With this comprehensive support and VIP protection, Road Bear RV ensures that customers are not left alone during technical issues and are assisted in getting back on the road as quickly as possible.
Toll Fees:
All toll charges incurred during the rental period are the full responsibility of the renter. In some regions of the USA and Canada, electronic toll systems (e.g., SunPass, E-ZPass) are used and tolls are recorded automatically. It is the renter's responsibility to pay any tolls either through the vehicle's toll device or by using an alternative payment method.
Some rental vehicles are equipped with electronic toll transponders. Please inquire in advance whether your vehicle has such a system and how the charges will be billed.
Ferries:
If your route requires ferry crossings, we strongly recommend booking in advance, especially during high season. Since motorhomes are larger than regular vehicles, it is important to provide the correct vehicle dimensions (length and height) when booking.
Using ferries is generally permitted, but it is the renter’s responsibility to ensure that the selected ferry can accommodate motorhomes and that the vehicle meets the requirements. Please check the conditions and any restrictions in advance, as not all ferries are suitable for larger vehicles.
Recommendation: To avoid issues during boarding, we suggest booking your ferry for a larger vehicle than the one reserved. This ensures that a comparable or larger replacement vehicle can be accommodated if your original model is not available. Any additional ferry costs resulting from a larger replacement vehicle will be at the renter’s expense. Ferry costs are not included in the rental price and must be paid directly to the ferry operator.
Traffic Violations
The renter is responsible for all traffic violations that occur during the rental period in connection with the use of the vehicle. This includes, but is not limited to, speeding tickets, parking violations, illegal parking, and other traffic offenses. All fines and penalties incurred during the rental period are the renter’s responsibility. We strongly recommend that you comply with the traffic laws and speed limits of the states or regions you travel through to avoid additional costs.
If the rental company is notified of a violation or ticket after the vehicle has been returned, the charge will be passed on to the renter. The rental company reserves the right to charge an administrative fee in addition to the fine. The renter will be informed of any post-rental violations and will receive an itemized list of the costs and fees, which may be charged directly or invoiced.
To avoid unnecessary costs, all traffic and parking rules should be observed carefully. This is especially important in high-tourism areas, where enforcement is stricter.
Bringing Your Own Child Seats:
Road Bear RV does not provide child seats or booster seats. Parents must bring their own child seats or purchase them locally in order to comply with safety regulations.
Responsibility for Installation:
It is the sole responsibility of the parents or guardians to properly install the child seats. Road Bear RV staff are not permitted to assist with installation or provide instructions. Customers are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with the correct installation process prior to travel.
Safety Features in Vehicles:
All Road Bear RV vehicles are equipped with tether anchors for child seat installation and safety nets above the cabin beds for added protection. Child seats can be secured at designated seating positions within the motorhome.
Shuttle Usage:
Families using the Road Bear RV shuttle service must also provide their own child seats for transport. Child seats are required by law during shuttle rides, and must be brought along by the parents.
These guidelines ensure that children are safely secured throughout the journey. The responsibility for meeting all safety requirements lies fully with the parents or legal guardians.
Winter weather and road conditions such as snow and ice can make driving more difficult. It is the renter’s responsibility to operate the vehicle safely and in accordance with road conditions. Route planning should take potentially hazardous roads into account, and alternative routes should be considered if necessary. Additionally, it is advisable to check local laws regarding snow chains or specific winter tires, as some states or regions require them during the cold season.
The renter is liable for any damage caused by improper use or failure to observe winter conditions. In cases of extreme winter conditions, it is recommended to inform the rental company in advance about your planned travel route and regions, as there may be restrictions on vehicle use in certain areas.
Winter rentals offer a unique experience, but it is important to plan ahead and take appropriate safety measures to ensure a safe and comfortable journey.
- Travel to Mexico: Travel to Mexico with a Road Bear RV motorhome is strictly prohibited. Insurance coverage and the rental agreement are only valid within the USA (including Alaska) and, in some cases, Canada.
- Death Valley: Travel through Death Valley is not permitted between June 1 and September 30 due to extreme heat conditions. These temperatures pose serious safety risks and can cause significant strain on the vehicle.
- Unpaved Roads and Private Property: Driving Road Bear RV vehicles on unpaved roads, logging roads, beaches, or other non-public paths is prohibited. These roads increase the risk of accidents and damage, and result in the loss of all insurance coverage.
- Certain Cities and Downtown Areas: Driving into downtown New York City, Montreal, or Québec City is also prohibited. These urban centers are difficult to navigate with large vehicles and pose an increased risk of accidents or traffic violations.
- Travel to Alaska and Canada: Travel to Alaska and to the Canadian territories of Yukon and Northwest Territories is generally allowed, but at the renter’s own risk. Any repairs required in these remote regions are not eligible for reimbursement.
Violations and Liability: If the renter violates these travel restrictions and this leads to damage, breakdowns, or theft, the renter will be held fully liable and will lose all insurance coverage.
These restrictions are in place to ensure that Road Bear RV vehicles are used safely and that the risk of costly damage is reduced. Renters are strongly encouraged to plan their travel routes in advance and to follow all driving restrictions.
